Terms of service
These terms cover your use of this site and the moving services West Michigan Moving Company performs for Grand Rapids, MI and the surrounding West Michigan region. We keep them in plain English on purpose. By requesting a quote or booking a job, you agree to what’s below.
Quotes and the written flat rate
Every binding estimate we send is in writing and signed by Hanna or Derek. The price on that estimate is the price you pay unless you add inventory, add stops, or change the date after we lock the truck — in which case we re-quote in writing before new work begins. We don’t bill hour-creep or surcharges that weren’t on the signed estimate.
Cancellation and rescheduling
- 72 hours or more before your date — full deposit refund.
- 24 to 72 hours — deposit held as credit toward a booking within 12 months.
- Inside 24 hours — deposit forfeited, since we’ve turned away other jobs to hold your slot.
Liability and cargo coverage
Released-value coverage at $0.60 per pound per article is included on every job at no charge. Full-value protection is available on request, and we can write up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment for high-value loads — ask in advance. Claims carry a nine-month filing window.
Items we do not move
By federal rule and common sense, we don’t transport loaded firearms, propane tanks, gasoline, fireworks, perishable food, live plants on interstate runs, or cash and jewelry. Set those aside and keep them on you.
Access and parking
You’re responsible for making sure the truck can reach the door at both ends — or telling us in advance if it can’t, so we can plan a shuttle or hand-carry. We plan around lake-effect winter timing at no charge. Permit parking in downtown or historic-district blocks is your responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Site use and governing law
The content on this site — service descriptions, area pages, pricing tables — is ours; please don’t republish it on a competitor’s site, though you’re welcome to link to any page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
